The first known (anyway to me) member of the De Besche family was Wathier De Besche, he lived in 1397 in Liege, in Belgium. According to "tradition" the De Besche family was of "Dutch nobility". He was married to Jeanna De Borne and they had at least one child; Hindrich De Besche, he lived in 1448 in Liege Belgum. Hindrich married Maria DeMontage, they also got a son, whom they called Hindrich. This Hindrich married Johanna DeRoxhelle. They got at least 2 children; Doritgena De Besche and Wilhelm Hindrich, who was the Architect for the Churfurst of Cologne and the Bishop of Liege. He died on October 8 1567 and is buried in the St. Lambert Church in Liege. Wilhelm Hindrich was married and had 3 sons (at least): Pierrot, Hubert and Gillis De Besche. Gillis was also architect and building master and a tradesman in the town of Liege. He later went to Antwerp and after that to Sweden in the beginning of the 1600's (maybe because of religion or economic matters?) He travelled with his wife Helena and 2 daughters. His 5 sons came to Sweden between 1596-1608. Most of them by invitation from Count Karl, later King Karl IX.
