During early slavery time there were two boys brought to Pike County from Old Virginia. They were from a large family, but these two boys were sold from their family and never had the chance to see their kindreds again. The oldest boy, who was 13 years of age at the time, was named John. The other boy was 11 years old. His name was Wash. The decendants of Wash Ashley: My Father(dec.)was Theodore Ashley.
