I have been researching my Scottish ancestory for about 5 years. When I first started, I didn't even know my grandparent's names as my father died when I was young and in those days we didn't ask about our ancestors. We moved to Australia when I was 2 years old and our small family of 5(mother,father& 3 children)
did not have any other relatives in the country.
I never knew what it was like to have an Uncle,Aunt or Grandparent.
My father was from Wick. He lived in the Thrumster, Sarclet area until 1920 and then moved to Wick.
He was raised by a relative when his mother died in 1910.
Over the years I have got so much pleasure from doing my family tree and finding distant and close relatives all over the world.
I have received so much help from people who have links to Caithness and I thank them all very much.
