I'm researching the Ashmore family, originally of South Carolina and later Alabama and Texas. Wm. Ashmore was born 1770 - 1774 probably in Greenville County, S.C. His son, Wm. Jr., born in Greenville County, SC, died in 1905 in Pickens County, AL. He married Nancy Moorhead around 1824. Their son, Andrew Jackson, born 8/13/1832 in Pickens Co., AL, fought with the AL 41st Infantry Regiment in the War Between the States. He was wounded twice and captured at Ft. Stedman, VA. He married Harriet Caroline Leverett 10/13/1857 in Columbus, MS. They died in Corsicana, Texas, he in 1905, she in 1914. Their son, Arthur Norwood A., b. 12/19/1871, died in 1942. He married Nannie Lucille Reardon. Their son, James Luther, served in WW II, being killed in action in Italy.
