My family is wonderful. I was born to Joseph Clifford Rediger and Sarah Elizabeth Smiley on 1 July 1937 in Bloomington, Illinois. I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 26 February 1956 in Bloomington, Illinois. I went on a mission as secretary to the Mission President - Richard W. Maycock of the Northern States Mission located in Chicago, Illinois in 1960. I married Clive Edwin Ashton on 4 January 1963 in the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah. We have eight children - six sons and two daughters. We also have eighteen grandchildren - nine grandsons and nine granddaughters. Our childrens names are from the oldest to the youngest - Jonathan Reid; DeAnn; Carrie; Paul Edwin; David Robert; Steven Andrew; Adam Joseph and Aaron Spencer. My husband Clive and I served a mission from 2003 - 2005 in the Missionary Department for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are now serving a mission in the Durban South Africa Mission from 1 May 2006 to 1 November 2007. We love our mission and love being with these special people in South Africa who truly love our Savior, Jesus Christ.
