William H. Askine (my GG) was born in the Pittsburgh area in 1842. He enlisted on September 15, 1862 in Pittsburg. He joined Capt Nevin's Battery, PA Artillery which later became Independant Battery H, PA Light Artillery. He was promoted to 1st Sergent, 2nd Lt and then to 1st Lt. He was listed as William H Askine Jr on several military records. He married Sarah Chibnall in 1867. He died in 1911 in Erie PA. His death certificate listed his father as William Askine and his mother as Sarah Maddocks. Any info about William Askine would be appreciated.
