The Aston Family

Updated December 6, 2000

About Our Family Research

Our family started its gen. research about 18 years ago when my husband met a distant cousin who had copies of civil war letters from his and my husband's great grandfather. He started researching the family and since has gathered a lot of information from cemeteries, libraries, and other sources. Since our entrance into the Internet world, he has found a lot of Alabama relatives and more connections to our family. In October of this year we went to Winfield, Alabama toa a family reunion of Astons, Musgroves, Wekks, and others from all over the country. My own search for my family has been reward this year with finding my great grandmother and great grandfather on the Internet with lots of information on the Sanderlin family (the maiden name of my great grandmother). I also found relatives of my great grandfather on my mother's side (maiden name of my grandmother:Syfrett) and have received a lot of very pertinent information from South Carolina where some of the Syfretts still reside. I am now searching for my granfather's family (he lived in Kingman KS and I have letters from him to my grandmother in 1893 when he was going to the Cherokee strip land rush in Okla. His name was Charles William Harris and I have no information about his family. Mymother's maiden name was Stagner and they resided in Texas in the last parpt of the 29th century and the early part of the 20th century. They buried children in Rising Star (Pioneer Cemetery)Hale Center, and also lived in Arkansas at some period around the 1910s. I would like to have any information about these families or their family history.
