My family research lies in the following areas:
ASTON/VICKERS/ WILSON/LASCELLES BARTRUM/BELLWOOD/
ASTON/VICKERS My grandfather Samuel Aston married a Mary Jane Vickers from Page Bank, Spennymoor. They had a total of nine children, Sidney, Stanley, Ernest, George, Donald, Keith, Mary, Audrey and Maureen. I am trying to trace the parents of my grandfather Samuel Aston. I understand my grandfather fought in the world wars and was a prisoner of war. He died around 1965-66. Mary Jane, my grandmother died in 1997-98.
WILSON/LASCELLES John Wilson and Florence Lascelles were my great-grandparents on my mothers side, and were the parents of my grandfather Jack Wilson. They also had another son called Alfie, who lived in Oakenshaw, Co Durham. As far as I know my great-grandfather John lived in Newfield, Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, and he was a pitman. He was also killed in Newfield pit and he is buried in Newfield cemetery. His wife Florences' father was an Irish policeman. John Wilson was probably born around 1900 and died around 1930-1940. I am trying to trace the parents of John Wilson.
BARTRUM/BELLWOOD
Frederick Bartrum and Matilda Bellwood were the parents of my grandmother Constance Bartrum on my mothers side. My grandmother was born in Coundon, Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, England. At one time the family owned a sweetshop in Coundon. They moved to Shildon, Bishop Auckland, where my great-grandfather Frederick worked in the railways. He was born around 1880-1890 and died in 1975-1980 at Peterlee in Co Durham England UK.
