My name is Deborah J. Atwell, nee Brinkworth. In the mid 1800's Johnathan Brinkworth married Anna Hill, of County Cork Ireland. They settled in Chippenham, in Wiltshire County, England. I am trying to trace my Irish roots. I know that we are also related to the family of Collins in England.
The Brinkworth's had a child named Thomas Brinkworth who immigrated to America in the late 1800's. He went to Louisville, KY, and obtained a job at the Louisville River Port Authority. He attended the University of Lexington, before it became the University of Kentucky. He was a free mason, and a Professor of English at the University of Kentucky, as well.
He married and had children and one of them settled in Mitchell, Indiana, and was a farmer.
I would really love to find my Irish ancestors. If anyone has any information about any of my living relatives, please notify me. I would love to hear from them.
