AUDET/AUDETTE FAMILY GENEALOGY Updated November 9, 2000
About Our Family Research
The Audet/Audette family genealogy has been assembled from Canadian documentation for the period between 1600 to 1900, and from family members up to 2000. The principal source of information for the early years in Quebec were found in one document consisting of 10 volumes covering the descendants of the original settler in Quebec from France, Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe. Each volume lists the descendants of Nicholas's children. The 10 volume document is titled "Genéalogie de la Famile Audet-Lapointe," by Joseph A. Lapointe and Francois Audet, Thetford Mines, Quebec, 1966.
This genealogy covers the descendants of only one of Nicholas's children, Joachim, down to his great-great-great-grandson, Frederic, from which point all of Frederic's descendants are included as far as is known.
As will be seen, many dates are incomplete, and any information that can be sent to the compiler will be most helpful and appreciated.
