Johann Heinrich Aumann (Henry Auman) born in Babenhausen, Hessen, Germany came to this country as a British soldier (mercenary) fighting in the Revolutionary War. He was taken prisoner 1777 at Saratoga and settled after the war in Weavertown, Amity Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
