The limited research we have carried out suggests that the surname Awdas derives from the old english "ouldhouse". It is connected with Yorkshire, where both my wife and I were born.

We have only found the name occurring in Sheffield in South Yorkshire.

My father Wilmer Awdas suggested that his father or grandfather had come to England from the USA. We have not been able to trace the name back to the states.
