James Axford was a Cornish copper miner from Gwenap. He had approximately thirteen children. The 5th child, William, migrated to Australia with his sister, Grace, and his son , James, in 1847. Williams first known residence was Allens Creek near Kapunda. James married Grace Thomas Perry and had 4 children. William, Thomas, Albert and Edith. Thomas married Victoria Grace Dunstan and had 5 children. Beryl, Kathleen, Rita, Ralph and Vivian. Ralph married Janet Maud Laidlaw and had three children. Margaret, Janet Rae and Bruce. Bruce married Junette Daphne Smith and had four children. Lindy, Geoff, Natalie and Robert. Robert Scott married Lisa Anne Foster and so far have three girls.(2004) They may have one more shot at it to continue this branch of the Axford family tree.
