The Robert LOONEY family emigrated to Philadelphia, PA from the Isle of Man before 1734. Adam was born c.1725, possibly on the Isle of Man, married Hanna Wright (or Rowland), and died 1770, Tyrone Co., NC.

Raleigh NC, List of Letters of Testamentary granted year previous to Oct. 26, 1770:

"Adam Loony, Intestate, to Robert Loony on bond of Jno. Nichols and Patrick Moore, pounds 250"

Tyron County Minutes, Part I, Inferior Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of 1769-1782, 47:

"On motion of Bromfield Remley it is ordered by the Court that Letters of Administration issue to Robert Loony of all and singular the goods and chattels of Addam Loony, deceased, he to comply with the Act of Assembly in that case made and provided. He proposes for security John Nichols and Patrick Moor bound for the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds. This motion was made at the Session of Court beginning 4th Tuesday in July 1770, and adjourned day by day for a few days."

Pg.57,session beginning Tues. Oct. 4,1770:

"Robert Loony, administrator of Adam Loony, decd., returned an inventory and prays an order of sale which was accordingly granted."
