About Our Family Research




Maria Cristina Azcona is an Educational Psychologist, poetess, novelist and peace researcher. Her articles, reviews, poems and short stories are continuously published in many newspapers, magazines and anthologies around Argentina, UK, India, US, and other countries. Since 1980, she works as a psychotherapist specialized in Forensic Psycho diagnosis, listed by the American Biographical Institute (ABI) in their international directory “Experts & Expertise” US. As a consultant to Forensic specialists in trials related to family, car accidents and labor accidents, she has studied and researched on thousands of accident victims presenting post traumatic stress, reactive depression, neurosis and other illnesses derived from the accidental shock.
Through many years till today she has treated thousands of children with behavioral and learning problems and their parents. In the last years she also acted as psychotherapist to many marital couples in divorce crisis.
IFLAC Argentina Director, Bilingual MCA founder director and editor and Editorial Advisor for Taj Mahal Review, are only some of her actual honorary titles.
She was born in Buenos Aires City, Argentina, where she lives joined to her talented family. Her husband: Professor Ernesto Castellano, who is a College Headmaster and co -wrote A Spanish book with Maria Cristina, (See bibliography).Her daughter, Dra. Maria Silvina Castellano, lawyer and also bilingual poetess and writer. Silvina has obtained first prize in many literary contests in Argentina and part of her self translated work has been published in printed publications, in other countries.Her son, Fernando Ernesto Castellano, SAP Programmer is also an excellent writer and has achieved many literary prizes. Her father, Dr. Alberto Ernesto Azcona, is a retired high judge, bilingual writer and historician. Her sister, Dr. M Ines Azcona de Aguilar is a well-known medical doctor specialized in paediatrics.-

In 1998, Maria Cristina Azcona won First Prize in the poetry contest organized annually by the Academic Circle of Argentinean Writers after she had been finalist in many contests of poetry by different literary institutions. Maria Cristina Azcona has authored five books: Four in Spanish: The poetry collections, “Dos Talles Menos de Cerebro” (1999) and “Mundo Postmoderno” (2000), both books fully illustrated by the author herself. A novel “La Voz del Ángel” (2002) and the essay “Estar de Novios Hoy”, (2003), this one written jointly with her husband, Ernesto Castellano.
Her last book is “Window to Heaven” a poetry collection published by Cyberwit.net in 2006, is the first book of English poems by Argentinean author published in India.

In 2000 she started to write bilingually, with a unique intention: to spread her peace ideals, worldwide. In 2001, she founded the nonprofit movement “Bilingual MCA Poets & Writers for Peace ” to promote bilingual literature for peace, and since then, she edits a philanthropic E-zine dedicated to the publication and promotion of exquisite peace poems by many bilingual poets, worldwide. She has organized several poetry readings by members of this institution, who came to visit her country to recite their poems, and many literary contests. Since 2002, she is Editorial Advisor for “The Taj Mahal Review”, a bimonthly literary journal devoted to arts, literature, poetry and culture, published by Cyberwit.net. India. During 2003 and 2004, she worked as a Bilingual Reviewer to Editorial El Ateneo and Director of Institutional Relations to the Argentine Center for Development of Writers. In 2004 she was selected as Director in Argentina for the International Forum for a Literature and a Culture of Peace (IFLAC) She has been re-nominated for the following periods till 2009.
