Bacon's of New England - VT - MA - CT - ME - RI - NH and NY

Updated February 1, 2004

About Our Family Research

This covers the Bacon's of Sunderland Vermont from the mid 1700's and on. Records indicate that earlier Bacon's came from the Berkshires of MA (Lenox and Richmond).
The earliest Bacon's of Sunderland were Benjamin Bacon married to Lois Evarts and Joseph Bacon married to Dinah Matteson. Whether these two were brothers or related is undetermined at this time.
The search continues for the father of both Benjamin and Joseph Bacon although it is thought that Joseph's father is Jacob Bacon of Lenox (he was one of the first selectmen of Lenox MA - 1767 to 1769).

Benjamin's father maybe a Jacob Bacon and Ben was noted as the first white child born in Lenox Mass. Jacob was one of the 1st selectmen in Lenox. Jacob b. 20 April 1714 may have come from Norwich CT and married a Priscilla from Richmond Mass.
