The Backes/Lich family tree basic information was researched by Malcolm P. Backes, Sr. and his spouse Evelyn Catalano Backes in the 1970's to early 1980's time period, before the advent of computers and the vast information now available through geneology software and the internet. The data was entered into Family Tree Maker software by their son, Melvyn J. Backes, who is currently maintaining/updating the source data and who created this online family home page in January, 2003.
