The Family Tree has been researched back to 1712 +/- a year. In 1712 the family was located in the Parish of OLRIG Cathness, Scotland. It was in the same location for over 100 years and may well have been there for some time before that.
The reason we cannot go further back that 1712 is that the records which were all held in the Old Kirk at Olrig was destroyed by fire in 1743. The Old Kirk was built in 1633 and no doubt the records would have told a wonderful story. The graveyard is still intact and has many headstones.
The Australian family now comprises a son Andrew John and three daughters. Morag Judith, Catriona Anne and Marsali Fiona. To date there are 7 grandchildren 2 grand daughters and 5 grand sons.
