George C. Harrison (son of William Cannady Harrison and Sarah Elizabeth Gabbard) was born 20 Jul 1862 in Jackson Co KY, and died 28 Feb 1932 in Rocky Comfort , MO. He married Sarah (Sallie) Ann Baker on 08 Nov 1883 in Crawford, AR, daughter of George Matthew Baker and Eliza Jane Gabbard.

Includes NotesNotes for George C. Harrison:
This is the BAKER connection on the Harrison side of family. When Sallie Ann Baker
married Geroge Harrison, and having a daughter Delia Harrison. Delia married Hilton
Carroll, and their daughter Mary Kathryn Carroll, married William C. Baker. They were
actually 4th cousins, I'm told. Welch Carroll married a Baker, Joanne Baker, and Charley Carroll
also married a Baker, Patricia Baker. Communities being so small, and transportation limited,
everyone seemed to marry someone in the county where they lived much of the time.

George died young. The story goes..........he was moving furniture into their house on a Sunday, while Sallie was at church, and (he was a tall man) hit his head on the doorway while entering the house, and was found laying dead when she arrived home. He is buried in Rocky Comfort, Mo.

Sallie Harrison is buried in Cragar Cemetery up Flemings Creek Rd in Madison Co. AR Her birth name was actually Sarah Ann Baker.

According to we-site information, George C Harison is 4th cousin, 5 times removed, to President Geroge Walker Bush, and 4th cousin, 6 times removed to President Lyndon B. Johnson. (This could be good, or bad!)

Also related to George Wyeth (1726-1806) Virginia Representative, who was a slave owner, and later became an abolitionist. He signed the Declaration and soon became the Mayor of Williamsburt, VA. He is 4th cousin, 3 times removed.

Wm. C. Durant, (1861-1947) was a 7th cousin, the founder of General Motors, and he worked with Louis Chevrolet to design a brand of motorcars.

Thomas More (1478-1535) was an English writer, who was executed by King Henry VIII when he refused to recognize him as the head of the Church of England. (12th Great-Grandfather)
