Everett Lamott Baker (son of William Matteson Baker) was born May 15, 1891 in Oneida, Madison Co., NY, and died 1974 in Hemet, Hemet Co., CA.

BIRTH: WKB & ELB, Family Bible in possession of jkb

RESIDENCES: Uncle Everett Lived in Oneida NY until he retired to Orlando,Florida; he then went to live with his sister-in-law in Yuma, AZ after Margie's death.

RELIGION: Everett was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church of Oneida NY. He attended Sunday School there, joined the church 12 April, 1906; he became an Elder of the Church 3 Apr. 1941. He transferred his membership to Orlando Florida Church in 1960.from First Pres.Church of Oneida NY.

BURIAL: buried in Glenwood Cemetery near Oneida with his wife Margie L, as seen in May, 1992 by Joan and Chuck Bakeman.

NOTE: (from MBB),"I also remember Everett Baker who lived in Oneida up until 1960 anyway, particularly because in 1938 he and his wife caused a mild sensation in their crowd (and in town!) by eloping with their best friends spouses! Everett was first married to Anne somebody and their good friends were Margie & Ralph Gillum. In June 1938 they each eloped with the other and kept it a secret til they all appeared at a dance together in town. An entry in my father's diary expresses everyone's surprise!"

Everett's middle name, LaMott, might have been taken from Harry LaMotte Sanford who m. Cora E. Baker in Oneida.
