Gardner was also listed on DAR Grandmother's "Relatives of Rufus Crain Baker, Cousin List" as a first cousin, a widower, living in Weldon, Iowa.

1898: named by DAR Baker as a first cousin to Rufus Crain Baker.

In the Ancestral File, LDS Church records, Gardner Is listed. In DAR Baker's notes, he is said to be living in Weldon Iowa, but he was not the pastor of Weldon's Methodist-Episcopal Church.The son, Gardner C. lived in Weldon Iowa. The film #1010344, item 3, shows that church's records back to 1850 (the beginning) but Gardner Baler is never listed as a member or pastor of that church.

Death Date: Recorded in Boonville Herald newspaper, BAKER, Gardner 'Rev", d. 23 Aug. 1877. (His son Gardner may have died about 1900.)
