This is a compilation/collation of information from a formal genealogy commissioned by John Duvall Bawden, Bettendorf, Iowa, for author/compiler Alice Richardson Sloane, C.G. It was printed and hardbound in dark green with a gold cover title in 1986 by Anundsen Publishing Company in Decorah, IA. [The Ancestry and Descendants of DUNCAN CAMPBELL ELDRIDGE and STEPHEN BAWDEN of SCOTT COUNTY, IOWA]

This finished product was poorly, if at all, proofread against the original notes and the author.

I have, in that vein, verified information with those agencies and individuals who continue to leave a legacy, as I update to the current year.

  Stephen and Mary Terrill Bawden in Redruth, Cornwall, England, are the beginning of my story. Stephen was born 6 April 1812, and Mary was born in Redruth, 8 April 1817. They were married on 4 September 1837. I have Stephen's parents, Stephen and Elizabeth Jelbert's marriage date - 17 August 1809 - and 7 siblings' christening dates but no bios.
