Most recently situated in Southeastern PA, the Charles Wesley and Annie Bonaparte Baxter branch seeks to connect with other Baxter and Bonaparte surnames, particularly those who trace their roots to the general Orangeburg County, SC area. Seeking greater understanding of our story, our study sees us moving from the oral and document phases of our self-discovery to DNA testing. Using DNA testing methods, we intend to verify existing lines, discover new ones, and learn where our exodus out of Africa took our generations. Simply put, we seek to undertand how we got where we are today.
Baxter Family reunions are every other year and hosted by Baxter families in one of three locations, either the Baltimore,MD area, the Coatesville-Reading, PA area, or the Orangeburg, SC area. The PA Baxters will host the 2007 reunion. Reunions begin the second Friday in August with events scheduled over three days.
