What started as a hobby has become an obsession! I started searching in 1997 and had very little success. I did my research by corresponding via the good old postal service, and local library. I also used the computer/internet at the local library. This was a bit frustrating, because I had only one hour. Then finally in 2000, I was able to purchase a computer for our home. Once I got started, I couldn't stop. There is a never ending supply of information out there. I had to learn to be very patient, because genealogy is a long, slow process. There are a lot of dead ends, brick walls and such. But patience paid off, and I have had much help with the many wonderful people out there in the world who have provided not only photos and such, but a friendship as well.
