He came from sturdy German parentage, being born in the "fatherland" At the age of eight he immigrated to America, settling with his folks in Wisconsin. In 1859 he settled on a farm in Scott, Sheboygan County, and on April 14, 1863 he was united in marriage, taking Miss Barbara Schaeffer as a life partner. This information was taken from his Obituary September 11, 1919. It's headline is St. Michaels Pioneer. Dead.
