John C. CARTER was born 30 July 1920 in Carbondale, Jackson, Illinois, and died 26 February 1994 in Arma, Crawford, Kansas. He married Mildred KYNION on 05 May 1943 in Fort Scott, Bourbon, Kansas, daughter of Samuel KYNION and Mary Lucille BELL.

Arma--JC 'Jake' Carter, 73, of Arma, died at 3 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 1994, at Arma.

Mr. Carter was born July 30, 1920, at Carbondale, Ill., the son of Robert and Ethel Goodhall Sears. He was raised and
attended schools in Gross. He was a retired pipefitter. He lived in Detroit for 20 years and after retiring had moved to
rural Pittsburg. He moved to Arma in 1984.

He married Mildred Kynion on May 5, 1943, at Fort Scott. She preceded him in death Sept. 25, 1990.

Membership was in the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 171 at Wichita.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma with the Rev. Chris Conklin of the Arma United
Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 7
to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bedene Chapel in Arma. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the Bedene Chapel in Arma.
