George 'Murphy' BELL (son of George Washington BELL and Anna Elizabeth POOLE) was born 27 November 1895 in Glen Roy, Jackson, Ohio, and died 07 November 1960 in Scammon, Cherokee, Kansas. He married Anna Bridget REAGAN on 1916 in Scammon, Cherokee, Kansas.

GEORGE BELL, 64, IS DEAD
End Comes to Scammon Man While Seining Bait.

Scammon, Nov. 8--George (Murphy) Bell, 64, pipefitter, and near lifetime resident of Scammon, died Monday while
seining fish bait in the strip pits northeast of Scammon.

Mr. Bell and a friend, Clyde Moorehead, had walked about a half mile to get to the pit, when Mr. Bell died of an apparent
heart attack.

Born Nov. 27, 1895 in Glenroy, O., Mr. Bell came to the Scammon area as a small boy.

He was a member of the plumbers and pipefitters union in Pittsburg, and the Presbyterian church in Scammon.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Annie B. Bell, of the home, one daughter, Mrs. Edith Wallenstine, and one son, Richard
Bell, assistant prosecuting attorney in Kansas City; six sisters, Mrs. Maggie Renfro, Mrs. Effie Bondrake, Mrs. Mary Brown,
and Mrs. Annie Bailey, all of Kansas City; Mrs. Darlene Goddy, New York, N.Y., and Mrs. Golden Hisel, of Arma, and two
grandchildren.

The body will be taken from the Naylor-Quinn chapel at noon Thursday to the Presbyterian church in Scammon where funeral
services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with Rev. H. P. Rumford officiating. Burial will be in the Hosey Hill cemetery.
