RICHARD BELL

Kansas City, Mo.--Richard Bell, 62, of Kansas City, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 1, 1989, at this home.

He was born in Scammon to George and Ann Reagan Bell, and lived in the area until moving to Kansas City.

Mr. Bell was a graduate of Kansas State Teachers College, now Pittsburg State University, and Kansas City University
School of Law in 1958. He had been an attorney in the Kansas City area for 30 years.

He was a member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Kansas City, the Kansas and Missouri Bar Associations
and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the East Gate Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Bodies, and Ararat Shrine
Temple of Kansas City, and the VFW Post No. 1829 of Independence, Mo. Mr. Bell had served during World War II in the
Navy Madical Corp.

Survivors include one son, Robert M. Bell of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Edith Wallenstein of Los Angeles; and one
grandson.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Lawn Chapel in Kansas City. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday at the Hosey Hill Cemetery in Weir. Friends may call at the Park Lawn Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

RICHARD BELL

Richard Bell, 62, northeast Kansas City, a lawyer and former area teacher, died Dec. 1, 1989, at the home.

Mr. Bell practiced law in this area for 30 years. He was assistant prosecuter in Jackson County in the early 1960's
and was the county's investigator of institutional cases during the late 1960's. He taught citizenship, history and
American problems at Northeast Junior High School from 1954 to 1958. He also taught business law for more than
10 years at the Metropolitan Community College.

He was a member of the Missouri and Kansas bar associations and was chairman of the Junior Bar of Kansas City
in 1962. He was a graduate of Pittsburg (Kan.) State Teachers College and received a law degree from the University
of Kansas City in 1958.

Mr. Bell was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Claude B. Champion post of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars. He was a member of the East Gate Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite bodies and the Ararat Shrine and its patrol
unit. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

He was born in Scammon, Kan., and lived in this are 45 years.

Survivors include a son, Robert M. Bell, Cockeysville, Md.; a sister, Ellen Wallenstein, Los Angeles; and a grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Lawn Chapel; graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday
in Hosey Hill Cemetery, Weir, Kan. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Shriners Hospitals
for Crippled Children or its burn unit, in care of the Ararat Shrine Temple.
