The Kretzschmer Family

About Our Family Research


The first Kretzschmer came to Denmark in 1704, his name was Balthasar Gottlieb Kretzschmer ( 1678 - 1750 ).
The old part of the family lived from 1370 to 1704 in the town Hirshberg in the kingdom of Bohemia.
The very first known Kretzschmer in Bohemia was,
count Christian Josef Kretzschmer ( 1370 - 1447 ).
The best known Kretzschmer in Denmark was,
blacksmithmaster Harald Theophil Kretzschmer ( 1859 - 1947 ).
Today in 2003 we living in Denmark, and we are a big family and was roots in Poland, France, Norway, Germany and Denmark.

  • Sir Leonard Gottlieb Kretzschmer (170 KB)
    Born in 1410 in Hirshberg and died in 1499 in his castle, Kretzschmer Hof. He been came knight of Hirshberg and the king of Bohemia's premierminister in 1449.
  • Andreas Kretzschmer (57 KB)
    Born in 1771 in Copenhagen and died in 1847 in his home in Copenhagen. He was in the danish army from 1801 to 1811, and from 1814 to 1847 he was making liquor in Copenhagen.
  • Harald Theophil Kretzschmer (260 KB)
    Born in 1859 in Copenhagen and died in 1947. He was captain in the danish naval, and from 1878 to 1923 he was a very good blacksmith in Ålborg and in Copenhagen.
  • The Kretzschmer Shield of Arms (186 KB)
    The Kretzschmer Shield of Arms was given to Leonard Gottlieb Kretzschmer by the king of Bohemia in 1449.
