I have 3 main databases for my genealogy research. One is for my mom's side (Cheek, Hewett, Hickman, Jenrett, Lay, etc.), one is for my father-in-law (Bible, Bibles, Behrens/Behrns, etc) and the third is my mother-in-law (Wilson, Loomis).
My mother's line began in North Carolina and South Carolina and went to Arkansas and then on to Oklahoma. From there, they moved with the Dust Bowl into Texas, New Mexico and ending up in California.

My father-in-law's lineage is very German. His mother's line came from Germany and landed at Galveston. They were among some of the first settlers in Texas. His father's line, also German, came from Virginia then went to Tennessee and then to Oklahoma and settled in Texas where most still reside.

My mother-in-law's lineage goes back to the 1400's, though I can't claim to have done much research on this line myself. I found that someone else had done it. Her lineage is quite English. Her Loomis line came over from England to Connecticut and then moved westward. Her Wilson line has had little work done on it - yet.
