Barnes Hundley, Hughlett, Bromley and related families. You all know me.
Biggers, Castleberry, Garland and related families. You probably don't know me. Introduce yourself.
Those Biggers descended from Isabella Brown - take her ancestry with a grain of salt. This info is from a book privately published in the 1970s. What is important about the book is what happened after the family reached the colonies. Also possible problems with Ivey (late 18th c.), Heard and Burtonshall ancestry.
I'm a compiler only, not an expert. Information here is meant to stimulate and encourage conversation. It is derived from many sources. Some documentation is thin or non-existent. If you think you have some corrections or additions, please contact me.
There is much to be done on just these individuals, to say nothing of additions. It is my intent to collect the stories of our ancestors, not just their names and dates. It is also my intent to add photos to this homepage but that will have to wait for more equipment and time.
I encourage others to compile their own stories as well as those of their ancestors. Even if you think you don't have a story to tell, someone down the road will wish you had written something about their life. I asked my mother to write something about her childhood memories and what she wrote is now one of my most treasured documents. It's only by our work now that our descendants will know us and perhaps better understand themselves.
And PLEASE, PLEASE label any photographs you have with names and dates. I go to many flea markets and antique shows and see box after box of old unmarked photographs that I know someone, somewhere is despaerately saearching for but will never find because their ancestor didn't mark the pictures.
Always, more later.
