Ancestors of Arthur Binhack

Updated March 8, 2005

About Our Family Research

I am the genealogist for my family. We are especially interested in stories, and information about the lives of our family ancestors. Contact me at artb2@ix.netcom.com with any questions or information.

I am actively tracking my extended family. Some of the family surnames:

Binhack - Luckily this is a unique name. My great grandfather John Julius Binhack immigrated to this country in the 1880's. I think he first went with his brother Anton Binhack to visit their sister Anne Binhack Honsowitz in Ludington, Michigan. They probably also worked in the lumber industry at that time. Later John Julius Binhack married Anna Seil in Milwaukee in 1894.

Seil - Michael Seil and Anna Wagner Seil Michael Seil, born in the Grand Duchery of Luxemburg in the 1830's. Anna Wagner Seil born in France in the 1840's were married and lived in Luxemburg until they sailed for America in about 1875. While in Luxemburg Anna, who later became Anna Binhack, was born. In Luxemburg Michael was an overseer on an estate. When they arrived in the United States they settled in Northern Michigan in Flat Rock and Escanaba and Michael Seil became a railroad man. Anna Wagner Seil died a few years after their arrival in Michigan. Michael Seil had the pioneer spirit and went from one new settlement to the other and died in May 1899 in Minnesota.

Melle - My mothers maiden name. They came from a town in France called Melle. There are several towns in Europe with this name.

Condron - My grandmothers family on the Irish side. William Condon and Anne Smith Condron came to America during the potato famine we think. The settled in New Jersey, then bought a farm in South East Ohio.
