Jean 'Cataline' Caux and Bjerky family

Updated April 7, 2002

About Our Family Research

Caux, Coax, Coux, Cataline, Lynn; Bjerky, Bjerke, Skogstad, Qaal, Ste.Onge; Teague, Clare, York, Urquhart, Algie; Chrane, Volpatti, Hope, Shaw, Witala, Crouch; George Biernes, Ezra Evans, James May, Joseph Lyon.

Anything to do with Cataline (Jean Caux), British Columbia's most famous packer (mule trains). I am especially searching for information about a daughter, Clemence, who married Antoni Lynn in Victoria in 1905. Cemence was born in Wrangell, Alaska, and all I know of her mother is her name, Mary.

Also, any of these names associated with Yale, Spuzzum, Hope, Mission, in BC; and Clare and Algie in the UK. The Scandinavian names are in Norway, Minnesota, and Saskatchewan. Witala is Finnish.

The last three names are the best friends buried beside him in Hazelton, and I would like to know more about them. (Evans, May, Lyon). Biernes also was his friend in Hazelton.
