the Blyth/Lunney family of Brooklin, Ontario, Canada

Updated April 24, 2004

About Our Family Research

Other family members on Larry's side have traced his father's family back about 4 or 5 generations. On his mother's side, I am having very little luck. Her parents were William E. Porter and Lucy Rogers, both of Peel or York counties in Ontario. His father was Charles Herbert Porter, a Barrister in Toronto who died in 1926. However, I have not been able to find any info on them other than what I have mostly from family hearsay and a copy of a notice to potential heirs of an audit in Surrogate Court of the accounts of the executors of his C. H. Porter's will.
On the Lunney side, gggrandfather William came from Ireland, apparently married a woman who was Pennsylvania Dutch then moved north to Canada. It was rumored in the family that he was a "remittance man" so I presume his family wherever they were in Ireland were reasonably well-to-do but have no idea of the area except that their children were brought up protestant.
