The Danny L. Bobo's of Grand Rapids, Mi.
I started research family around 1975 at age 27. Long, slow work without the advent of computers.
I began search in Tennessee area since my grandparents were from there. So, following an old family story, I backtracked to Texas and there I came to a dead end as great grandfather John C. had been living there in early 1890's and was murdered there in Oct. 1892. No court records found, history of floods wiping out cemeteries and fire destroyed old newspapers.
Later learned older cousin James Woodley was into geneology also and together we worked out that family story was false.
We obtained copies of court records with help from Betty Niemann, a distant relative we discovered in Texas.
From there we continued on to find consistent web pages and sites and have discovered everyone up to Gabriel Bobo who was the original immigrant that crossed in 1700 from France.
