My dream it to have every Bobbitt Grave Stone marked`, for you are not really gone if someone reads your name. My name is Max L. Bobbitt, for over 40 years I was involved doing Genealogy research on my family, the Cox family (my Mother) and the Combs family (my Wife). All my work in on the Webb site of Keith Bobbitt, you can see it by going to www.keithbobbitt.com . My work includes 2 Cemetery books with information and all the pictures I could get. In one of the books is a Cemetery called Cowan’s Creek, the land for the little Baptist church: (which now I think is a Church of God.) was given by a Thomas Bobbitt who owned a large farm in the area. It is located on the corner of Steel and Farmers Road in Clinton County just outside of Wilmington, Ohio. The first people interned there were three Bobbitt children. As of now there are many Bobbitt’s and Bobbitt Relations there. It has many of the first Bobbitt’s that came from the Virginia area and settled in the area with Thomas Bobbitt, many of the graves sites have markers, but just as many or more do not. My Grandfather George E. Bobbitt was the first Bobbitt to be born in Ohio, That was in Jackson County, Ohio. From the time he and his wife died there was never a marker on there site. Before I retired in 1992, I and a few of the other Bobbitt’s chipped in and had one placed with his, his wife and one of their sons mane on it. This was put on the lot George owned. The sloe reason for this letter is to ask any and all Bobbitt’s if they could see their way clear to help me put one fair size marker in the center of Lot in the Cemetery. Lot # 6 . The lot has 400sq. feet, with room for 12 graves, so they tell me. As far as I can find out there are only 2 Bobbitt’s, I have found named as being buried in Lot #6. I know of 6 more Bobbitt’s listed as being interned in the Cemetery with no record of where, but they all passed away at a rather young age about the same time as the ones named on the record as being interned in Lot #6. Yes I need help with money. Any money send to me would go into a special account in the Wright- Patterson Credit Union in Beavercreek, Ohio . I would need the name of the person who sent any money and the amount send. It would take close to $2,500.00 dollars to set a fair size marked right in the center of the Lot. This would keep the cemetery from selling off any of the grave sites, for there is no record of who now has the deed to the Lot, I am told after so many years if the Lot is not use the cemetery can resell the land. I know it would take a step of faith for a Bobbitt to send any money to one they did not know. I will keep this special account open for six months, if there is not the money for the stone, then at that time I will see all monies is returned to the sender. Your’s in good faith,. Max L.
