About Our Family Research

This research is to verify and discover information collected by my mother over the past three decades. All her information is hand written in seven large notebooks. We are looking to put all information, pictures and stories in Family Tree Maker. It is also to find the ties to ancestors who probably came from Ireland and Scotland so that I may connect the ties when I visit these lands in summer of 07. Since my mother is now 84 and the stories are becoming shadows it is important to act before they are gone altogether from her memory or pass with her.

We are interested in ties to both my mother and father's ancestors. My mother's family comes from mostly Irish sources. Their names are tied to the McKinstry's still living there. My father's ancestors are from Scottish sources. His family has lived in the United States for many generations and so are not as easily rooted out. He comes from the Lockard family, most are still living in Iowa, USA.
