George Boone III was born 1666 in Stoah, England (village near Exeter), and died July 27, 1744 in Exeter Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary Maugridge, daughter of John Maugridge and Mary Milton.

Was the first American ancestor. He was born in 1666 in the village of Cullompton, Devonshire, England (near Exeter). He died in 1744 in Pennsylvania. Hi wife, Mary Maugaridge was born in England in 1669 and died in Pennsylvania in _____.

He was a weaver by trade and a Quaker. Due to religious persecution he dreamed of taking his family to the country established by the Quaker's own William Penn.

He sent his three oldest children, George IV, Squire, and Sarah to America about 1713. They liked the freedom here and on September 29, 1717, the father, the mother, and six other children arrived in Philadelphia. All settled together at Abingdon, twelve or fourteen miles north of that city, and later moved to Gwynned, Berk County.
