View Tree for Louise Miller BooneLouise Miller Boone (b. February 09, 1889, d. September 15, 1941)

Louise Miller Boone (daughter of Daniel Ratcliffe Boone and Martha Jane Munroe) was born February 09, 1889 in Lonoke Arkansas, and died September 15, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married James P. Boyd on December 24, 1918.

Includes NotesNotes for Louise Miller Boone:
Louise was the second child and first daughter of D.R. and Mattie Boone. She was
known by those who remembered her as a hard working woman whom everyone
liked and respected. Her younger sister, Allie Mae, used to call her Sister Louise, even through adulthood.
She married James Boyd and lived in Phoenix, Arizona for a
number of years. She worked for many years for a large department store in
Phoenix. My father remembers Aunt Louise and Uncle Boyd having visited with
them in Phoenix just before finishing high school. Uncle Boyd didn't work, and no
one seems to recall him working as well. My father did remember that he often
'played the stock market', but no one is aware of any financial successes they may
have had.

Apparently, a diagnosis of an unspecified Thyroid Disorder was made in Phoenix.
Surgery had been recommended and Louise chose to have this done in Little Rock,
where she could be close to her family in Lonoke and recuperate. My father drove
back with them having stayed with them in their home for about a week. Surgery
was performed in Little Rock as planned, but information from her surviving family
recalls that she died unexpectedly during surgery. This was quite a shock to
everyone. Tommy Abraham, her nephew, told me about how inconsolable Uncle
Boyd had been upon her death. She was buried in the Lonoke Cemetery having
lived only to the age of 52 years.

Unanswered Questions:

1. How and where did she meet James Boyd? Was he from Lonoke?
2. When and how long did she live in Phoenix, what department store, and what
other activities were they involved with in the community.
3. Obituary in Little Rock or Lonoke?
4. Death Certificate?
5. When, where, and how did James Boyd die? Any extant photos?
6. Was James Boyd from Lonoke?
