Jacob Lindley was born January 13, 1774 in Near Prosperity, Pennsylvania.

 Includes NotesNotes for Jacob Lindley:
A Presbyterian minister, scholar, teacher, and founder of universities. As an early grdute of Princeton, he was selected by a Board of Trustees to found the University o Ohio at Athens in 1808. He lesft there in 1828, after having been their firt Professor and President for twenty years. Then he set up a boys college in Athens, Alabama; and later the irt female academy in Mississippi.
He returned to Pennsylvania after hi wife's death in 1848. He lived to be 83.

The Lindley family was famous for its extraordinary contributions to this Country and abroad. On was active in founding Princeton Univerity in 1746.
