Thomas Boon I (son of Nicholas Boon) was born 1648 in England, and died 1723 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Ratcliffe on 1674 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, daughter of Richard Ratcliff and Elizabeth Ratcliff.

Settled in Isle of Wight County, Virginia about 1663 and died there in 1723. The tidewater area of the Isle of Wight County, Va. not far from Jamestown.

1. In a later generation, the Boon's and Ratcliffe's owned adjoining land in Northampton County, NC.

2. In 1668 Thomas was an original landowner landowner in Isle of Wight County, Va. On May 1, 1668, Thomas Boon received a patent of land, Northampton County, NC, 490 acres of which was sold by his grandson, Nicholas Boon, on Feb. 6, 1754

3. In October 1695, the house of Thomas Boon(e) was mentioned.

4. On December 8, 1702, Thomas paid 1200 pounds of tobacco for 300 acres from Mathew Strickland of IOW, Va.

6. On April 9, 1705 Thomas Boon and wife Elizabeth of the lower parish of IOW, Va., sold 75 acres, part of a patent of William Williams, near Blackwater Swamp.

7. On May 7, 1706 Thomas Boon bought 360 acres on Blackwater River, part of a patent of 1803 acres to Matthew Strickland in 1680

8. On January 11, 1710/11, Thomas Boon, Phillip Raiford and Phillip Pierce were witnesses to the Will of Arthur Whitehead. IOW, Va.

9. On October 24, 1713 Thomas Boon and wife Elizabeth sold 100 acres to Natthew Strickland, recorded October 26, 1713

10. On December 26, 1719, Thomas Boon leased 80 acres on the north side of Main Blackwater, recorded October 28, 1719, The Great Book, pg. 315.

11. On October 28, 1723, Thomas Boon and Elizabeth Boon, his wife, gave a lease deed of 180 acres, adjoining Ratcliff Boon (their son) on Horse Swamp, recorded Nov. 25, 1723, the Great Book, page 591.
