About Our Family Research
My father was George I Bottcher. His grandfather was William Jacob Bottcher who came from Germany in the 1860s and settled in Big Flats, NY near Elmira. William Jacob Bottcher was born in Germany in 1844. After arriving in NY with his brothers he then sent for his wife Charlotte Catherina Reitman Charlotte who had been born in Germany on Decmber 29, 1850. In 1889 they moved to Highmore, South Dakota.
