The family research for the name Botten was started by myself in 1987. Our family came from the Surrey area of England. My grandfather was Herbert James Botten who was born on or about September 2, 1885 in Clapham near London. To date I haven't confirmed that date nor have I been able to research further back although I believe that the father and mother of Herbert James was Alfred Charles Botten and his wife was Harriet Walker. This has been a stumbling block for me and I would like to research further back in time for these and more relatives.
