The Bothwells of AberdeenShire, SCT, are currently being researched in the 1700-1730 range, 1754 being the birth date of the current Patriarch George1. His father was William, of Parish Tarves.
George's 2nd son James, with wife Ann (Fraser), and 2 yr. old 5th son William, emigrated to Montreal, Lower Canada, in 1818.
The Family, under many surnames is now to be found in many US States and Canadian Provinces, currently having over 300 names in the Database.
Research is ongoing since 1984, started from 2 handwritten sheets made in 1955 by William "Bill" Bothwell, (RCAF, ret'd: 1913 - 1884), my father. This information was abstracted from family papers, now long disappeared, since the original Family Home at 61 McKay St., Ottawa, was sold after the generations born in the late 19th century died off.

The Genea-site is updated regularly, and the current plan is to update the GEDCOM annually, in the spring.
