I am currently researching, surnames Lane, Bottoms, Baker, Thompson, Rainey, Petty, Penix, Crooks, and McNeills.
I have been doing research for about 2 years now and have gathered some information on all of my surnames on the internet and from family but have found more on the internet than from family.
The first Saturday of August The Lanes have a family reunion in Paducah, KY.
My Lane family originated from Rowan County, NC and a lot of them along with the Thompsons migrated to Graves County, Ky traveling in covered wagons, stopping along the way to work, building barns, etc. to earn money to travel farther. They left Rowan County, NC in about 1874.
