My father, grandfather along with other members of the family came to Washington state from Detroit Lakes, Medo, Mankato and other parts of MN. Prior to that the family came from the Fond Du Lac area of WI.Previously someplace in NY. Some of the family remained in Minnesota and relocated to Bemidiji. My other Boyer line (see below) apparently came from the Lewis Co. and/or Herkimer Co. areas of NY.
Primary early names William Henry Boyer - b 1829 d 1865 - wife: Innocent Elizabeth Coffeen (or Coffin?) Walter Henry Boyer - b 1854
The Coffeen databases which are numerous on the web seem confused. Innocent Elizabeth was the child of Henry H. Coffeen and Nancy Lampher (sp?). So far I have found no one interested in Innocent although some are aware of her. Need help!
Walter Henry was married to Hulda Dains. Hulda's mother was Mary Jane Boyer from apparently another Boyer line -> Jonas Boyer -> Robert Johann Boyer. These Boyers came from Herkimer Co., NY
The biggest mystery is who is William Henry Boyer (see approximate b & d dates)
Mary Jane was also married to John Clapshaw. John's parents and many of John's offspring also went to Western Washington State and to Oregon as well.

The Boyers of Western Washington State and the families who are most closely associated. History, of course, begins abroad before coming to the U.S., primarily through New York. These families include: Boyer,Clapshaw, Coffeen, Dygert, Ferguson, Hill, Holcomb and Larson and Vezmarovic (or Wesmarovich, or...) Most of these families settled in Ohio, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Many Boyers, Clapshaws, Dygerts and Larsons found their way West to the state of Washington.
