The Boyack Family of Lower Hutt are descendants of Columba Anthony Boyack who came form Sunderland in 1926 to settle in New Zealand. His father was Thomas Paton Boyack of Sunderland and his mother was Mary Anne Collins. Thomas Boyack's father was Alexander Boyack of Dundee, Scotland.

The Lower Hutt Boyacks are related to the Sligo Boyacks in Ireland, the Boyack/Quniceys from Shanghai, the South African Boyacks, the Sparks from Yorkshire, the Krakowskis from Newcastle, and the Morrells of Nth East England.
