James Boyle came from Belfast c.1840 to Canada and settled in Finch Township,Stormont County, Eastern Ontario. He met and married Eliza Corbett who was living with her parents and 2 siblings. They had 2 children before moving to Hastings County, Ontario. James worked as a sawyer in several mills in the county before settling in Belleville.
They eventually had 9 children all remaining in Belleville with the exception of Mary Ann who married a James Bradford Magarrell and ended up in Atlantic, Cass County, Iowa.
