Jacob Wilderman was in the War of the Revolution, He was enlisted by Zachariah McCubbin and was reviewed and passed by Thomas Jones July 20th 1776. Maryland troops serving in Godman's Fourth Regiment beginning 1777. Jacob was a Corporal Private on Aug 28, 1778, and Sergeant, Jan. 1 1779. He was discharged April 13th 1780. (From Sheri Buyshaven)

WILDERMAN: The first appearance of the name on the Baltimore Records occurs in the Liber W.G. No C - folio 109 Ba;timore County Deeds. This indenture between John Wells of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Bricklayer, and Jacob Wilerman of Baltimore County, farmer. John Wells on the 25th of Nov 1778 sells a part of "Wells Manor" 125 acres in Baltimore County, to Jacob Wilderman for 100 pounds of currency.

Archive 18, of Maryland folio 58. Jacob Wilderman enlisted by Zachariah McCubin, reviewed and passed by thomas JOnes July 20, 1776. Maryland troops in War of Revolution. Same archives, folio 178 Jacob Wilderman, Corporal private, August 28th 1778. Sergeant Jan 1, 1779. Discharged April 13, 1780 - Godman's Fourth Regiment beginning 1777. Patriots Oath of Fidelity --Jacob Wilderman (father) and George Wilderman (Son) February 3, 1778. Returned by William Lux, Baltimore County. Vol 6, pg 68 unpublished Maryland records by Hodges.
