I am researching the Thomas Boyd family which came to Berlin Township, Holmes County, Ohio in 1834. The family landed in Baltimore, Maryland, sometime between April and June of 1830. They came from Antrim County, Ireland. Family members included Thomas b cir 1743, Thomas b cir 1780 and his wife, Sarah (Sherlock) b 1796. The children were: Jane b 1816, Barbara b 1818, Samuel b 1820, James b 1822, Sarah b 1824, and Matilda b 1827. Only Sarah and the children came to Holmes County where her brother, Hugh, had purchased land for her. She married Thomas Wilson and moved to Illinois with her three oldest daughters and their families. When Thomas Wilson died she returned to Berlin Township and lived with her three children who settled there.
What happened to the two Thomases?
I am also researching my grandmother Ida Frances Gurwell. She married Samuel's son John. Her father was George Gurwell who was born in Saltcreek Township, Holmes County, Ohio in 1822. His father was William Gurwell who came from Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
I would like to know the name of William's father.
Two other lines are Jacob Isaac Rohrer and Aaron M. Yoder. Both are my gr-grandfathers
